    Our Approach

The Covington County Hospital Emergency Department operates round the clock, featuring a four-bed trauma room and five exam rooms, with continuous coverage by either a physician or nurse practitioner. Patients of all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric, receive comprehensive care. The department’s central objective is to deliver prompt and adaptable emergency care, aiming to minimize mortality and complications. Services encompass evaluation, diagnosis, recommended treatment, and disposition of emergency patients, including critical life-saving procedures like endotracheal intubation and thrombolysis for Stroke and Myocardial Infarction. Short-term critical monitoring is provided until patients are transferred to a higher level of care.

The range of emergency medical conditions addressed includes heart attacks, strokes, difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, injuries with uncontrollable bleeding, major illnesses or infections, and allergic reactions. For less severe ailments such as coughs, colds, sprains, and strains, Covington County Hospital offers Family Care Clinics to cater to your needs.
