A new four-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services places Covington County Hospital in an elite group with some of the top-performing hospitals in the country.
Last week, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services released updated hospital rankings on its Care Compare and Provider Data Catalog websites.
“This rating is a testament to the hard work of our employees,” said Lynn Scott, CCH’s Chief Patient Care Officer. “There is a desire to consistently improve and provide the best care for our patients.”
Care Compare on Medicare.gov reports information for over 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals, including over 130 Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Centers and over 30 Department of Defense (DoD) military hospitals, across the country. The website provides information for patients and caregivers on hospital care delivery and encourages hospitals to improve the quality of their care by publicly displaying quality information.
Five categories are assessed before providing a hospital with its rating: safety of care, mortality, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
“I am very proud of the dedicated healthcare providers and staff of our hospital that made this achievement possible,” said Scott.
