RETIREMENT HOME OWNER RELIES ON SENIOR BEHAVIORAL CARE AT COVINGTON Melinda Lott, RN Owner of Covington Ridge Retirement Home As a nurse, Melinda Lott, RN, knows how important behavioral healthcare can be for older adults. To help them, she trusts the Senior Care Unit at Covington County Hospital. Lott owns and operates Covington Ridge Retirement Home in Collins, Mississippi, and Magnolia Place Retirement Home in nearby Sumrall. She relies on the Senior Care Unit at the hospital when residents and her own family members need help with behavioral issues. Making Sure “We love the staff there. They’re great with their senior care evaluation to make sure all the patient’s medications are right and that the patient is at their highest functional level before discharging the patient,” she said. “So we are very appreciative of their services.” Older people can be particularly vulnerable to behavioral problems.
