Hospital Proximity It helped that Arrington is physically connected to the hospital itself, “in case she needed emergency care or any kind of lab work or X-rays, anything like that,” Danny said. Rachel Sanford said she was happy with everything at Arrington, including the food. She said she had plenty of friends and enjoyed the activities, particularly bingo – “when she wins,” Brenda added teasingly. “They’ve always notified the children if anything was wrong, even if I got just a scratch,” Rachel said. “As quick as I knew it, they knew. That always eased my feelings to know that.” Danny said he especially appreciated that after every one of her regularly scheduled physician visits, he would get a call updating him about any recommendations or medication changes. They’re always open to listening to anything we have to say. They’re constantly asking for feedback.” Quick Resolution From her perspective as a resident, his mother had the same view. “If there’s a problem,” Rachel said, “it’s quickly resolved.” The family had some experiences with other nursing homes, including those where Rachel Sanford’s mother stayed. They said Arrington was clearly the best. “It’s wonderful,” Rachel said. “I am so proud of this nursing home. I’m proud of everyone who works here.” L to R: Rachel Sanford, Danny Sanford, and Brenda Dickerson 2024 Spring/Summer 18 “There’s good communication there.
