CovingtonCares Magazine - Spring/Summer 2024
2024 Spring/Summer 6 Christie Johnson Licensed Practical Nurse, Second Floor “Mostly, the elderly come to our floor. A lot of patients still need medical care, just not in an acute setting. It’s rewarding to get to know the patients. They may come in feeling down and frail, and when they leave, they’re smiling, happy, and talking about how we have helped them. “I think coming in with a positive mindset, being pleasant, is important. It helps us motivate the patient to do what makes them stronger and able to go home.” Diane King Registered Nurse Supervisor “A lot of patients over the years have touched us. A simple ‘thank you’ for making their day better means a lot. “We have some patients, whose families return for a visit just to say hello and thanks for the care given. And we do our very best to go above and beyond for our patients. If a patient wants something or has a craving, we do our best to meet that request when possible.” Patricia Haines Housekeeper “I enjoy being here. I get along with the people I work with and my boss. And I run into a lot of people asking about getting a job here. I think it’s a good place to work. “It’s a good place to be if you’re a patient, too. They take good care of you. I try to do my part by keeping it clean and safe, killing germs.” IT’S ABOUT THE PEOPLE Skilled, caring, dedicated people make up the heart of Covington County Hospital. Meet some of our employees. Feel the pride they take in providing their friends and neighbors with healing and hope.
