Admissions Clerk/Switchboard Operator - PRN

The Admissions Clerk/Switchboard Operator is responsible for receiving patient orders written/phoned in from the physician, admitting outpatients, inpatients, and emergency room patients, as well as outpatient surgeries.  Responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operation of the switchboard.  Acts as recep0tionist.  Must display a pleasing and courteous personality when addressing patients, public and when answering the switchboard.

Dietitian (Registered) - Full Time

The Registered Dietitian will provide assessment and nutritional counseling to patients of Covington County Hospital, Arrington Living Center,  and outpatient referrals from area Physicians.

Education:  Bachelors or advanced degree in home economics with major in foods.  Professional affiliation with the American Dietetic Association, licensed by the State of Mississippi.

Training & Experience: Minimum one year experience in a health care setting preferred.

Director of Nutritional Services - Full Time

The Director of Nutrition Services plans and directs activities of dietary department to provide appropriate nutrition support for infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and hospital employees; establishes departmental regulations and procedures in conformance with administrative policies, and institutes standards for organization and supervision of dietary service; provides technical guidance and administrative direction over diet planning, menu formulation, and preparation and serving of regular and therapeutic diets. Supervises educational program.  Procures and directs maintenance of supplies and equipment.  Coordinates dietetic services with those rendered by other departments.  Instructs patients and their families relative to purpose and content of prescribed diets, and may consult with other staff members to develop information regarding patients’ backgrounds pertinent to dietetic problems.    Keeps records and compiles reports concerning technical and administrative operations.

The Medical Laboratory Technician is skilled in the disciplines of Hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, serology, and blood bank in order to obtain report data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in an accurate, precise, timely and responsible manner.  They must be proficient in collecting processing specimens for laboratory instrumentation and procedures.  He/she is responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and for using those supplies prudently.  Must have current MLT/MT certificate/license.

Respiratory Therapist - PRN

The respiratory Therapist performs the standard procedures for Respiratory Therapy in administering medical gases to provide mechanical aids to ventilation.  Responsible for proper handling of departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best care possible for respiratory therapy needs of our patients.    Must be familiar with the various types of oxygen therapy, equipment, oxygen tents, suction machines, croup tents, EKG machine, etc.  Must hold current registration with the MS State Board of Licensure as a Respiratory Therapy Practitioner (RRT or CRTT).  Must hold current certification in CPR and ACLS.

PACU nurse works within the post-anesthesia care unit, where patients are cared for and monitored as they recover from the effects of anesthesia.
