Terri Byrd, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner in the Covington County Hospital Emergency Department. In addition to being certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Mississippi Nurse’s Association, Ms. Byrd holds special privileges through the Mississippi State Board of Nursing to practice through the University of Mississippi Medical Center TelEmergency system as a provider in critical access emergency departments.

Having worked at CCH for a little over a year now, Ms. Byrd thrives on the pace and diversity of the Emergency Department.

Ms. Byrd grew up in Richton, Mississippi, in Perry County, but has been a resident of Hattiesburg for the past 25 years. She is married to Jason Brooks Byrd, who works as a Registered Nurse at Covington County Hospital.

“My mother was a nurse for about 45 years in the small town of Richton, starting when I was only two years old. My whole life, I experienced people coming up to her in Sunflower or TWL and telling her how they appreciated how she took such good care of their loved ones.
