Our Approach
The Nutritional Services at Covington County Hospital are dedicated to enhancing or sustaining individuals’ health through a balanced diet. The dietary staff provides high-quality meals that meet the nutritional requirements of both patients and employees in a hygienic manner. They adhere to therapeutic or modified diets based on provider orders and cater to individual needs, including special dietary restrictions and food allergies. The cafeteria offers breakfast and lunch on weekdays to employees and also provides catering for meetings and special functions upon request. They emphasize delivering nutritious meals while accommodating personal food preferences.
Covington County Hospital’s Nutritional Services provides three meals per day to patients and residents of Arrington Living Center throughout the year. For cafeteria services, employees can enjoy breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on weekdays. To contact them, you can call 601-698-0198

The Dietary Department at Covington County Hospital provides quality meals for hospitalized patients of all ages. The Registered Dietitian offers nutritional services to patients admitted to both the Arrington Living Center, the hospital’s skilled nursing facility, and the swing bed program.

The Nutritional Services department at Covington County Hospital strictly follows policies that comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The Dietary Director oversees all dietary operations, including staff management, food procurement and storage, meal preparation, patient food service, cafeteria service, and catering. The Registered Dietitian works closely with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive the necessary nutrition through medical nutrition therapy as prescribed by their healthcare providers.
The hospital’s Registered Dietitian holds credentials from The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration and is licensed through the Mississippi State Department of Health. Moreover, several members of the Dietary Department possess ServSafe Certifications.
