Covington County Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Silver Rural Recognition Award, a national honor recognizing rural hospitals that consistently provide high-quality, evidence-based stroke care.
The Silver Rural Recognition Award is awarded to hospitals that meet the American Heart Association’s stroke-care performance measures for four consecutive quarters. These measures focus on timely treatment, rapid assessment, appropriate testing, and other best practices proven to improve outcomes for stroke patients.
This recognition is especially meaningful because it demonstrates that patients can receive nationally recognized high-quality stroke care close to home in our rural community. Stroke is a medical emergency, and quick treatment can make a significant difference in recovery.
This award reflects the dedication of our emergency department staff, physicians, nurses, radiology team, laboratory personnel, EMS partners, and everyone involved in caring for stroke patients, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time.
