Covington County Hospital (CCH) is pleased to announce that Lance Line, M.D., a highly respected orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, will begin seeing patients weekly on January 19, 2026, in the CCH Outpatient Specialty Clinic.
Dr. Line has maintained an active sports medicine practice in Hattiesburg since 1995, with a subspecialty interest in shoulder conditions. He is currently a team physician for the University of Southern Mississippi and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Line received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and completed his residency at University Medical Center in Jackson. Following residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy in Richmond, Virginia, which included an internship with the Pittsburgh Steelers professional football program.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Line has extensive experience caring for elite athletes. He has served as a volunteer Olympic team physician, with his first assignment supporting the U.S. men’s hockey team in Lake Placid.
Dr. Line is a member of the Mississippi Orthopedic Society and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
