There is a new option for physical fitness and exercise in Collins. Covington Fitness (formerly Snap Fitness) is located in the Taylor Place shopping center, 3275 Highway 49 South. Covington County Hospital recently purchased the shopping center, whose central tenant has been Family Care Express since September 2011.
The gym includes a wide variety of equipment, including treadmills, stationary bicycles, machine weights, free weights, and a small area for stretching.
Covington Fitness has a keyless front door entry that allows 24-hour access. Staffed hours are from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and Friday.
Membership fees for individuals are $20 monthly. A family plan for three or more members is $50 monthly. Memberships must be paid by bank draft. No cash or credit card payments will be accepted. All new members must complete the Covington Fitness Enrollment Form to utilize the gym and acquire a key fob for entry.
Membership is free to all CCH employees with a discounted rate for employees’ immediate family members. Improvements planned for Covington Fitness and the shopping center include new signage and a newly paved and lined parking area.
